As part of our Talent Inspiring Talent program,  extraordinary high school musicians can audition for NYJO from 10-12:30 on December 14 at the Little Theatre in Wilton High School . The repertoire is advanced offering inspiration and a challenge to young musicians.

Fun with Likeminded Musicians

  We will provide the opportunity to rehearse and perform with other extraordinary peers, and to gig with some top professional jazz artists. Tentative gig dates in 2020 are Sunday 2/23, 3/8 and 5/31 at 6 PM 

The Commitment

Rehearsals are 10am -12:30 pm at Wilton HS. You are expected to commit to all rehearsals where you will receive individual / group instruction .

Rehearsals are on 1/11, 1/25, 2/1, 2/22, 2/29, 3/7, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/31 - 2020

Invitation to Join

Audition forms are due before Dec. 1 

Auditions / Placements will be held on  12/14.

Per, above, is the lead trumpet in A Nordic Sound and performed with Paquito D'Rivera, Louie Bellso, Bobby Shew and Boston Horns.

World Class Music Coach / Band Director - Jens Wendelboe

An international recognized composer, arranger, conductor and trombonist of jazz and symphonic music. An awesome band leader who also toured or performed with Donna Summer, Blood Sweat and Tears, Shakira, Aretha Franklin and Al Jarreau and many more.

World Class Music Coach / Band Director - Arthur Lipner

Award-winning and internationally acclaimed vibraphone player, ofter compared with Gary Burton and Dave Samuels, Arthur is also a concert pianist with exceptional teaching skills. Arthur has toured, performed in radio and television throughout 25 countries.

Click on this link to complete and submit the audition form before December 1.  

 The audition chart is "Groovin' Hard" and based on your responses to the audition registration form, we will let you know which part to practice for.  We will then send you a link where you can pick your part, download it and bring it to the audition - either on a tablet/iPad or as a paper copy.   In the meantime you can listen to a YouTube link of the chart and play along to the best of your ability!

Sight reading material will be provided at the audition.

The audition fee is $35 and can be paid at the audition by check made out to A Nordic Sound, or by using paypal on the donate  page of this site.
